How To Register for Urbanathlon 2013
General info about Urbanathlon 2013
HOW AND WHERE DO I PICK UP MY RACE KIT/OR T-SHIRT?
Upon registration, you will receive an E-Ticket. If you have chosen not to receive your race kit by post, or you are and international Urbanathlete, then please ensure you bring your E-Ticket to the Registration Area at the start zone, from 6.30am in Sydney and 7am in Melbourne on event day to collect your Race Kit (please refer to the course map to identify the start zone in each capital city). Your Race Kit will contain your race bib and integrated timing chip, clothing sticker and other race-related materials. If your E-Ticket is not available, you will be required to provide photo identification in order to collect your Race Kit. You can collect more than one Race Kit on the day so long as you have the appropriate E-Tickets.
*If you have not elected to receive your Race packs via the mail, Race packs and materials must be picked up on-site.
WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE ON RACE MORNING
The event starts at 7.30am in Sydney and 8am in Melbourne. We recommend that you arrive at least one hour before your allocated wave time. Remember that you will have to park or walk, collect your Race Kit, attach your bib, check in any baggage and make your way to the marshalling area ready to go.
HOW DOES THE WAVE START WORK?
Each participant will have the opportunity to select a preferred wave time during the online registration process (subject to availability). You must begin the race within your assigned wave. Waves will start at intervals throughout the morning, commencing at the official start time of the race. Each wave will consist of up to 750 runners, released as groups of 50 runners in one minute intervals throughout the allocated wave time. Timing Headquarters will keep the official time clock for the competition. The race clock works in real time – it begins when a participant crosses the start timing mats and stops when they cross the finish line mats.
Marshalling for the race start will begin 15 minutes prior to the official start time. Participants need to look for their assigned wave’s staging sign within the start area and line up on a first-come, first-served basis.
WILL THERE BE AN AREA TO LEAVE PRE-RACE CLOTHING AND GEAR?
Baggage stations will be available on-site the day of the event. If you are bringing clothing, please affix the personalised clothing bag sticker contained in your Race Kit to your bag, and leave at the clothing area. Your bag will be retrievable at the end of the event by showing your chest bib. Please do not place valuables in these clothing bags – keys, cards and phones – as the bags are meant for clothing only. Race organisers will not take any responsibility for any lost or broken items. Participants store their belongings at their own risk.
WILL THERE BE DRINK STATIONS ALONG THE COURSE?
There will be four drink stations along the Urbanathlon course, serving water.
WILL THERE BE FIRST AID AVAILABLE?
Yes, there will be First Aid stations at the start/finish zone and at numerous locations along the course. Each first aid station will have communication with the Events Operation Centre located at the start zone so if you feeling unwell or are injured on the course, please utilise their services.
