Melania Trump Dons Pinstripes in Gray Suit for New York Stock Exchange Opening Bell Event
Melania Trump joined President-elect Donald Trump as the couple made an appearance at the New York Stock Exchange on Thursday for his ringing of the opening bell. For the occasion, Melania Trump opted for business attire, donning a gray suit with an unbuttoned white shirt.
When she was the first lady, Trump wore suits to various public events, ranging from official foreign visits to state events and meetings. While she sometimes opted for classic colors like black, navy or white, Trump also wore suits in pastel hues or bold tones depending on the occasion.

Trump often accessorizes her suits with minimalistic pieces, including statement belts, stiletto heels and designer handbags. Her fashion choices are frequently seen as a way of nonverbally communicating with a national and international audience.
At the New York Stock Exchange, Melania stood beside her husband and his daughter, Ivanka Trump, from his marriage to Ivana Trump. Other supporters of the 78-year-old president-elect were also in attendance, including Vice President J.D. Vance and Cabinet nominees Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Scott Bessent, Ben Carson, Kelly Loeffler, Pam Bondi, Elise Stefanik and Lee Zeldin.
During the event, Donald Trump celebrated being chosen Time’s 2024 Person of the Year. “Thank you very much. This is a tremendous honor. I brought some of our co-patriots along with us and they’ll do a beautiful job for you for the next four years,” he said.
Trump had previously been named 2016 Person of the Year after his first presidential election victory.
