Mel Gibson Hurls Abuse at a Female Sydney Photographer

UPDATE: Reps for the Braveheart actor have told media outlets that Gibson did 'not shove, or spit at anyone', and that the allegation 'is a complete lie.'

Mel Gibson reportedly shoved and hurled abuse at a female photographer in Sydney over night.

The 59-year-old actor was accused of shoving Daily Telegraph photographer Kristi Miller, just moments after she took a photo of him on Oxford Street, Paddington, on Sunday night.

Speaking to the paper, Miller said, "I thought he was going to punch me in the face.

"He was spitting in my face as he was yelling at me, calling me a dog, saying I'm not even a human being and I will go to hell. He swore and called me a c---... It was non-stop, he didn't even breathe."

The situation only calmed down when Gibson's girlfriend, US equestrian vaulter Rosalind Ross, 24, stepped in to pacify the Oscar-winning actor.

Miller, a mother-of-three was accused by Gibson of "disrespecting" him by taking his photo.

The Daily Telegraph reports that Miller feared 'she would be pushed on to the road' by Gibson.

"He was backing me on to the road," Miller said. "It was only when (Ross) grabbed his shoulder and said, 'that is enough' that he stopped. She said, 'I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry'. They turned and crossed the road and walked off."

Miller also claims that the actor physically shoved her.

"I took a photo of Mel and his girlfriend and when I turned around he shoved my back really hard,” Miller said. "It shocked me because I wasn't expecting it. I don't know if it was his hands or elbow."

The altercation occurred outside the Palace Verona Cinema, located on the bustling Oxford Street in Paddington, Sydney.

The incident was reported to police, who are now investigating.

Gibson is currently in the country to film World War II drama, Hacksaw Ridge in NSW.
