He’s remained relatively quiet since millions of people around the globe watched his daughter Meghan marry Prince Harry in the royal wedding of the year.
But now Thomas Markle Snr. has finally spoken out about rumours he had asked for financial help from his daughter – and she refused.
Weeks before his daughter officially became the Duchess of Sussex, reports suggested the former lighting technician living in Mexico had asked Meghan for help with money.
However 72-year-old Thomas called the rumour “just plan bulls**t,” and said that he actually never speaks about money to Meghan, according to TMZ.
He also reportedly said that he actually has an adequate retirement fund and doesn’t need his daughter’s help, but believed she would definitely help him if he asked.

It was Meghan’s half-sister Samantha that initially fuelled the rumours Meghan had refused to help out their dad.
Samantha Grant, who now goes by the name Samantha Markle, claims their dad asked the former Suits star for money after going bankrupt.
“He was very clear with her about the fact that he needed some help and by his report, twice she flatly refused,” Samantha said in an interview with Inside Edition last month.
“I live on a lot less than she does and he really had to chew on his pride to call me and ask me for help,” she said.
Meghan’s father sadly missed the royal wedding on May 19, following reports he suffered a heart attack days before, and therefore wouldn’t be walking his daughter down the aisle.
He revealed afterwards that he was devastated and had to watch the wedding on TV.
“I will always regret not being able to be there and not being able to hold my daughter’s hand,” he told TMZ.
