Meghan's pal Jessica Mulroney reveals she's bullied online daily

Meghan Markle’s close friend Jessica Mulroney has taken a stand against online bullying by sharing her own experience with the dark side of social media.

Jessica, who attended the Duchess’ 2018 wedding to Prince Harry, took to Instagram to share a screenshot of a nasty message she received from a female follower.

“Pretty!” the unidentified woman commented on a photo of Jessica filming her new Netflix series I Do, Redo in Jamaica.

“But you look super old in this pic - still beautiful though,” the follower added.

The Good Morning America correspondent has since deleted the post but not before her powerful message was captured.

“I get messages every day like this. I’m not asking for pity because they don’t hurt me, but they hurt so many,” she wrote.

“Social media is not going away. It is a business tool, it can be an incredible place to find strength, but it can be dark.”

The Toronto-based stylist - who reportedly minded the Sussex’s baby Archie earlier this month - went on to reveal to followers she was in the midst of “organising a conference on how to handle social media as a positive platform.”

The topic hits particularly close to home for Jessica, as her BFF Meghan has been the target of severe bullying from both the media and social media users particularly following Megxit.

The international attention paid to the Duchess has had a ripple effect on those in her inner circle, with online trolls hurling cruel comments to not only Jessica but to her children as well.

Jessica, when faced with unnecessary hate, does not pull any punches in defending herself or those she loves.

In August 2019, she hit back at online trolls after sharing a photo of herself on location wearing a bikini.

“I put a spotlight on trolls because I want people to really see the truth of what is happening on social media,” she tweeted. “We can’t let people get away with appalling behaviour. It should never be tolerated.”

Despite removing the post, it now looks as though Jessica is ramping up to help make social media a safer place for users.

“I can’t wait to share it with you soon,” she continued. “Sending love to all those who carry the weight of bullies and let’s find a way to teach our children proper decorum. There is a light at the end of this tunnel.
