Meghan Markle's 'hidden message' on Instagram amid 'bullying'
Meghan Markle has shared messages of ‘be strong’ and ‘be kind’ on her royal Instagram account, after her celebrity friends spoke out against the relentless trolling and bullying of the royal couple.
Meghan and hubby Prince Harry were hit with a barrage of criticism over the past week for choosing to travel via private jets to both France and Ibiza.
A host of celebrities including Elton John and Ellen DeGenerous came to their defence, before Meghan’s best friend Jessica Mulroney hit out at the former Suits star’s critics, calling them ‘racist bullies’.
Now, in a new Instagram post to the Sussex Royal account, Meghan shared an image of cupcakes, baked by female employees of the Luminary Bakery, an East London organisation, which she chose to feature in her issue of Vogue.
“Today we shine a spotlight on @LuminaryBakery and the amazing women of this inspiring and sustainable grassroots organisation,” the caption read.
The cupcakes themselves featured messages of “you are beautiful”, “stay strong”, “you are worthy”, and “be kind to yourself”.
“What they’ve created at Luminary Bakery is exceptional - it’s a space for baking, healing and rebuilding,” the post continued.
“When I visited the women earlier this year I was struck by how the baking, itself, is a means of therapy for these women - which in many ways makes complete sense - feeling they had no control over their lives based on their previous (and often harrowing) circumstances, they found comfort in the measured nature of baking.”
The post itself has also had comments disabled, which is different from previous posts to the royal account.
Meghan Markle's best friend lashes out at 'racist bullies'
The Duchess of Sussex’s famous friends had clearly had enough, with a group of them banding together to hit back at the treatment of the new mum.
Jessica Mulroney, Meghan’s best friend lashed out on Instagram calling her critics ‘racist bullies’.
“When someone faces unfair criticism, you call it out. When that person is your friend and your family, you call those critics what they truly are. Shame on you, you racist bullies,” Jessica wrote.
Celebrities defend Harry and Meghan
Ellen Degeneres also spoke out in the couple’s defence, saying they are the most ‘compassionate’ and ‘down-to-earth’ people she’s met.
"Portia and I met Prince Harry and Meghan in England to talk about their work on wildlife conservation,” Ellen wrote on Twitter.
“They were the most down-to-earth, compassionate people. Imagine being attacked for everything you do, when all you're trying to do is make the world better.”

Billionaire media heiress calls Meghan 'hypocritical'
One of the many people calling out Meghan and Harry this week was Eleanor Harmsworth, the daughter of Daily Mail owner Viscount Jonathan Rothermere, who labelled the duchess ‘hypocritical’ before demanding her supporters ‘grow up’ .
In a comment replying to Jessica Mulroney’s post, she said, “by marrying Prince Harry she chose to put herself in a position where she would be scrutinised”.
