Meghan Markle's ‘conscious effort’ not to 'copy' Kate Middleton

They may have a lot of things in common, after marrying into the royal family, but according to reports, Meghan Markle is doing all she can to not copy her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton.

From the beginning, comparisons have been drawn between the 37-year-old Duchess of Sussex and the 36-year-old Duchess of Cambridge- from their outfits to their charity work and their pasts.

However, according to a source, former Suits actress Meghan Markle and her stylist, Jessica Mulroney, have made a ‘conscious effort’ to steer well clear of Kate’s favourite designers.

Kate is also a massive fan of designers like Alexander McQueen, Temperley London
and L.K. Bennett.

She often goes thrifty with purchases from high street shops like Zara and Reiss.

Meghan Markle on the other hand hasn’t yet been seen in many affordable items, preferring to stick to her beloved Givenchy, Stella McCartney and Aquazurra.

It was even reported that the star threw a ‘Sayonara Zara’ party when she was rich enough to move from high street brands to designer threads.

“According to a Hollywood source, when her star was rising she threw herself a party at her home unofficially billed as a ‘Sayonara Zara’ party,” Vanity Fair reports.

“[She] gave away the lower- priced clothes in her closet to her guests.”

Soon after the bash, Meghan hired her stylist turned best friend Jessica Mulroney to give her wardrobe a makeover.
