Meghan's best friend accused of taking savage swipe at Kate Middleton

Meghan Markle’s best friend, Jessica Mulroney, has been accused of taking a savage swipe at Kate Middleton online.

The 40-year-old Canadian fashion stylist, who has a regular segment on Good Morning America, took to her Instagram stories after sharing a post from the Canada Strong Campaign, which was started to raise funds for the families of victims on the shot down Flight 752.

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex stand on the balcony of Buckingham Palace during Trooping The Colour 2018 on June 9, 2018 in London, England. The annual ceremony involving over 1400 guardsmen and cavalry, is believed to have first been performed during the reign of King Charles II. The parade marks the official birthday of the Sovereign, even though the Queen's actual birthday is on April 21st.

Jessica then accompanied the post with an Instagram story, which it seems some people thought was actually a dig at photos released earlier in the day by Kensington Palace, showing photos Kate Middleton had taken of Holocaust survivors to mark the 75th anniversary.

“Pretty pictures are pretty pictures.Strive to use your platform for good and spread stories of incredible people striving to make this world a better place."

Jessica’s husband, Ben Mulroney, tried to smooth the whole thing over on Twitter, taking to his account to stand up for his wife.

“Yesterday, my wife @jessicamulroney posted a call on her IG to raise funds/awareness for the families of the victims of Flight 752. It was accompanied by an IG story that conveyed that actions trump thoughts & prayers. Shame on anyone who has tried to twist it into anything else,” he wrote.

However, Kate Middleton fans weren’t too sure about the explanation, with many calling Jessica out for her ‘tone deaf’ actions online.

“Oh! Come on. That’s pathetic. She knew what she was doing,” one person said.

“Her timing sucks then. But this was clearly an attack on the Duchess of Cambridge. So obvious,” another person wrote.

Jessica’s Instagram faux pas came just days before it was reported that Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton haven’t seen eye-to-eye since Megxit.

“Kate and Meghan have not spoken since [the royal exit] happened,” a source told Us Weekly.
