Meghan Markle goes from $45 H&M dress to glittering evening gown

The Duchess of Sussex just further cemented her status as a global style muse on her first solo engagement of 2019.

The 37-year-old visited animal welfare organisation Mayhew in London on Wednesday, and demonstrated how to stay stylish in affordable maternity wear.

In a surprise move, the mother-to-be dressed her bump in a $45 turtleneck mini dress by H&M which comes in both beige and grey.

A chic Armani coat protected her from the rain while a $1,300 Stella McCartney bag and $1,010 Manolo Blahnik slingbacks finished the minimal ensemble.

Later in the evening, Meghan completely changed up her look as she stepped out with husband Prince Harry for a charity performance by Cirque de Soleil.

Looking every bit the Hollywood princess, Meghan wore a glittering $6,100 gown by Roland Mouret, which she paired with strappy heels and a slick bun.

Across town, the Duchess of Cambridge also carried out a public engagement at the Royal Opera House.

Proving she’s the queen of recycling, the mother-of-three chose a $4,800 berry-hued Oscar de la Renta skirt suit.

To finish the high fashion ensemble, the 37-year-old wore $940 Rupert Sanderson block heels with winter-ready tights and a $890 Aspinal of London bag.

The Duchess first wore the wintry ensemble in 2017 for the UK Guild of Health Writers conference in London.
