Meghan Markle's ex-husband makes big announcement

The Duchess of Sussex's ex-husband Trevor Engelson has announced his wife is pregnant with their first child.

The 43-year-old director-and-producer confirmed the good news this week as he revealed he and his partner Tracey, 33, are expecting their first baby together.

Taking to Instagram, he wrote: "Future mother of the year and girl dad way outta his league!

"Best thing I've ever produced hands down. Baby girl, So excited to meet you in September. (sic)"

The couple got married in May last year following a four-month engagement, a year after Trevor's ex Meghan Markle married Prince Harry.

Trevor and Meghan tied the knot in September 2011 after around seven years together, but they separated approximately 18 months later, and were granted a no-fault divorce in August 2013.

News of Tracey's pregnancy comes after it was revealed Harry and Meghan, who have moved to Los Angeles after announcing their plans to quit royal life, have been helping to deliver food amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The couple teamed up with Project Angel Food in Los Angeles to help transport non-perishable food to 20 clients who are living with critical illnesses.

The organisation's executive director Richard Ayoub said: "They told us they heard our drivers were overloaded and wanted to volunteer to lighten the drivers' workload.

"I am blown away that they chose us. They care about our vulnerable population.

"Our clients are most at risk to contract the coronavirus, having compromised immune systems including heart disease, lung disease, diabetes, and most are over the age of 60."

The move comes after Harry and Meghan - who have been living in North America since stepping down as senior royals earlier this year - unveiled plans for their new Archewell Foundation.

They previously said: "Before Sussex Royal, came the idea of 'Arche' - the Greek word meaning 'source of action'. We connected to this concept for the charitable organisation we hoped to build one day, and it became the inspiration for our son's name. To do something of meaning, to do something that matters.

"Archewell is a name that combines an ancient word for strength and action, and another that evokes the deep resources we each must draw upon. We look forward to launching Archewell when the time is right."
