Meghan and Harry ‘didn’t speak to William and Kate at all’ during Jubilee visit - EXCLUSIVE

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex did not talk to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at any point during their visit to the UK to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, Yahoo News UK understands.

According to royal executive editor Omid Scobie writing for Yahoo, the two couples shared no interaction over the weekend, which included a first birthday party for the Sussexes' daughter Lilibet.

Harry and William are reported to have had a strained relationship in recent years, becoming increasingly distant in both their personal and professional lives — particularly since the Sussexes set up a new life in California.

Harry and Meghan made only one official appearance during the royal celebrations, for a service of thanksgiving at St Paul's Cathedral on Friday.

But the Sussexes and Cambridges arrived separately and were seated on opposite sides of the aisle, not close enough for a conversation.

Harry and Meghan did attend Trooping the Colour on Thursday, and were spotted mingling with other guests after being invited by the Queen to join family members watching from the Major General’s Office overlooking the Horse Guards Parade for the illustrious occasion.

It is believed Harry and Meghan met privately with the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall over the weekend, and introduced Lilibet to the Queen.

The Sussexes threw a small, private party at their UK residence, Frogmore Cottage, to mark the Lilibet's birthday.

Close family and friends were invited to celebrate the occasion, where there was face-painting and cake, according to guests.

A spokesman for the couple did not name the family members who attended.

Neither Lilibet nor the couple's oldest child, Archie, made a public appearance during the visit, though the Sussexes did release an official birthday photograph of their daughter.

The picture of Lilibet, which shows her smiling and dressed in a pale blue frock with a white bow in her hair, was taken by photographer and friend of the couple Misan Harriman, and released by Harry and Meghan on Monday.

The family friend later shared a black and white snap on Twitter of Meghan holding Lilibet alongside the words: “It was such a privilege to celebrate the 1st birthday of Lilibet with my family and hers! Joy and face painting all around.”

The birthday cake was made by the Sussexes’ wedding baker Claire Ptak, according to a spokesman for the couple.

Harry and Meghan thanked well-wishers, including some who made donations amounting to more than £79,000 in Lilibet’s honour to the World Central Kitchen, a not-for-profit organisation partnered with the couple’s Archewell Foundation, the spokesman said.

The organisation has provided support in Ukraine and Uvalde, Texas, where 19 people were fatally shot in a gun attack.
