Megan Moroney is not putting up with criticism about her appearance. The 27-year-old country musician, who catapulted onto the scene in 2022 with her chart-topping hit "Tennessee Orange," had a huge night at the Country Music Awards on Wednesday. Moroney, who was nominated for three awards, took home her first CMA for New Artist. While the honor called for celebration and joy, some online users instead took to TikTok to criticize Moroney's hair extensions, and she did not stand for it.

One user posted a video zooming in on Moroney as she gave her acceptance speech with the caption: "I swear the hairstylist brain never shuts off. Who matched her extensions???"

She continued in the caption, writing, "She's golden on the top and ashy ends."

Moroney seemed to follow the guidance, kill them with kindness, as she clapped back in the comments with, "Very nice of u!"

In addition to the "I'm Not Pretty" singer's sarcastic comment, fans flooded to her defense. One wrote, "Me, an extension and blonding stylist, thinking 'OMG she looks stunning' 😍," while another said, "It’s the lighting! Hairstylist or not why point that out when you should be pointing out what she just won! She’s so talented!"

That she is. Moroney captivated the audience with her powerhouse vocals during a performance of her hit song "Am I Okay?" Later in the night, she ascended the stage again to accept her award with sentimental remarks. She thanked her fans, saying they are “a large reason of why I am up here right now.”

She continued: “The way they show up for me, the way they care about my songs and they make signs and t-shirts and they wait outside the venue starting at 3am, it’s really insane to me. This means so much to me.”

The Georgia-native walked the red carpet in a regal, floor-grazing, cobalt-blue gown that featured a strapless design, fitted construction through her hips, and a dramatic tulle mermaid skirt. She accessorized with a glittering silver clutch with the name of her song "Am I Okay?" emblazoned across in blue letters, along with a smattering of diamond-encrusted rings. As for beauty, Moroney radiated in glowy glam, complete with shimmery eyeshadow, fluttery eyelashes, rosy blush, and a glossy pink lip. She styled her long, golden blonde hair down in bouncy curls and a side part, with plenty of va-va-voom volume.

The songwriter kept the shimmer going for her outfit change. She swapped her blues for a shiny, silver-sequined minidress that featured a sweetheart neckline and an itty-bitty flouncy skirt. White cowboy boots completed her ensemble that time.
