It included so many closet staples.
When Harry Met Sally…, Sleepless in Seattle, You’ve Got Mail, French Kiss — the iconic Meg Ryan film titles go on and on. Chances are you’ve seen at least one of these classic rom-com flicks, and if you’re like me, you’re pumped that Ryan has decided to re-enter the Hollywood scene after a “giant break” — and she’s wasting no time getting back into it.
Arriving on the set of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Ryan was spotted wearing a fall-coded outfit, including a buttoned-up blazer, straight black skirt, and white collared blouse. I wouldn’t expect anything less; she’s always been the autumn girlie of our dreams. Just think of her cozy, oversized gray turtleneck from I.Q. or her wide-brim maple-colored hat from Addicted to Love, and you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about.

Ryan’s look wasn’t only a fall masterpiece;it also included so many closet staples in a single outfit. You could seriously wear each separate on its own, creating a plethora of ‘fits. The blazer, for example, can be dressed down with wide-leg jeans, thick socks, and comfortable loafers. The simple maxi skirt works well with an oversized knit sweater and a pair of knee-high boots. And don’t even get me started on her button-up shirt. I rely on this style like its nobody’s business, wearing it to the office, happy hour, business meetings, industry events, and more. I like to elevate it with large, gold earrings and a sleek belt, like this statement B-Low the Belt find. Each of Ryan’s pieces are so easy to style, making them versatile and fool-proof, and thus, an absolute must.

Guess Fearne Platform Combat Boots

But I can’t wrap up without calling out the actress’ killer black combat boots. Not to be dramatic, but they’re everything, featuring a chunky lug sole, lace-up closure, and thick, platform heel. She might as well have taken a few pointers from Taylor Swift; the Cruel Summer singer recently wore a pair of $1,270 Prada combat boots. Ryan’s shoes mimic Swift’s to a T, proving that this cool-girl style is here to stay. Wear a similar pair, like these Guess platform boots, with a pleated plaid skirt and a black leather jacket for a seamless punk-rock look.
