"The military veteran and Harvard alum is so excited to meet Jenn and hopes she's the kind, honest, humble woman for whom he's been searching," his ABC bio says. "Marcus is a man of humility and wants to start a life with someone who shares his core values."

So, who is Marcus Shoberg, and how far does he make it in Jenn's season of The Bachelorette? Here's everything to know about the new Bachelorette star so far.

He's from North Carolina and is a founder of a tech company.

According to his ABC bio, Marcus hails from Raleigh, North Carolina. He recently visited the North Carolina Museum of Art:

Marcus keeps busy with work, founding a tech company, Falkor Technologies, in September 2023. Its mission is to "empower businesses by transforming complex data into actionable intelligence" by using "cutting-edge Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, and Cloud Infrastructure to unlock the full potential of your data,” the company's LinkedIn page says.

He is also a data engineer at Amentum, a defense and space manufacturing company, per his LinkedIn.

Marcus is a Military veteran.

Marcus served in the U.S. Army for eight years and worked his way up through the ranks in the army, according to his LinkedIn. He served as a Rifle Squad Leader, Headquarters Platoon Sergeant, and Battalion Civilian Affairs Operations Sergeant.

In 2016, he told his followers that being in the army was the "best job I ever had."

In 2020, Marcus posted over a dozen life lessons he learned as an army ranger. Those included phrases like, "A great leader is ALWAYS more concerned about the welfare of his men over his own," "There will come a time after you’ve tasted combat that you’ll go to war with yourself," and "If you want something done quickly and correctly, it’s better to do it yourself."

He currently attends Harvard.

After leaving the military, Marcus began attending Harvard in 2021 and studying computer science, per his LinkedIn. He will graduate in 2025.

Marcus played on the school's rugby team, according to this Instagram post. "Killer B's," the caption says.

He enjoys the outdoors.

According to his ABC bio, Marcus "loves going rock climbing with friends and grilling on a Saturday night." This is clearly evident on his social media: Marcus has posted a ton of pictures of himself rock climbing, surfing, snowboarding, and doing a plethora of other outdoor activities on his Instagram.

In 2020, he posted this picture of himself rock climbing with the caption, "Don't fall, don't fall, don't fall.."

In 2018, he shared a few pictures from a trip to Greece, including this one of himself diving off of a yacht into the ocean. "Present," he captioned the post.

The adventures don't stop there. He is also a certified open water scuba diver and has his student pilot certification, according to his LinkedIn.

How far does Marcus get on Jenn's season of The Bachelorette?

**Warning!! Major Bachelorette season 21 spoilers ahead!!**

During episode two, viewers see Jenn and Marcus grow closer during a hot skydiving date. But that's not the only one-on-one Marcus gets this season: When the group heads to Seattle, Washington, ahead of Hometowns, the duo head out on a Wicked-themed outing, featuring ex-contestants Kelsey Anderson, Daisy Kent, Trista Sutter, and Charity Lawson.

According to Reality Steve, Marcus makes it through his Hometowns in Washington, to Fantasy Suites in Hawaii, all the way to the final two. Back in May, he shared a picture of Marcus during filming for the season finale.

"(SPOILERS) I know spoilers have been scarce this season, but I can report that Marcus Shoberg is in the final 2 and had an evening dinner on the beach last night with Jenn. Here he was yesterday at the Fairmont Orchid before his date with her," the caption read.

Marcus doesn't get Jenn's final rose, however. Per Steve, Devin Strader, the owner of a transportation consultancy group, proposes to Jenn at the end of the season. The two get engaged.
