A TikTok user is going viral after revealing a McDonald’s menu hack that claims to get customers free food “every time” they eat at the chain.
Basically, the trick involves filling out a customer service survey on the McDonald’s website. As Robinson shows, the survey ends with a coupon for a free meal.
“It’s too easy guys,” Robinson captioned his video.
TikTok users love a money-saving hack, so naturally, Robinson’s video went viral. The downside? It seems like the trick won’t work for everyone.
For one, it appears Robinson is based in Canada, where the McDonald’s website is slightly different from in the U.S. The survey is currently not available in the U.S. — as Party Shirt, the viral TikTok fact-checking account, discovered.
The TikTokers tested Robinson’s hack and found that while it doesn’t work in the U.S., it does apparently work in Canada, the U.K. and possibly other countries.
However, all hope isn’t lost for American McDonald’s fans. Several TikTok commenters — many who claimed to be current or former McDonald’s employees — weighed in to say that in the U.S., there are often similar surveys included in the chain’s receipts. So, Americans may have a different way of trying the trick.
TikTok users were largely excited about the trick regardless, with many praising Robinson for discovering it.
“This is legit,” one user, presumably also based in Canada, wrote.
“It actually works!” another exclaimed.
“Not all heroes wear capes,” another added.
“It’s so evil yet so effective!” another wrote.
