Mayday’s leader and lead guitarist Monster announced on his Instagram and Weibo last night (20 September) that he just welcomed a baby girl to his family. He tied the knot with his girlfriend of two years in 2015.

The Taiwanese musician expressed delight in his Instagram post, as he said his baby girl has “easily surpassed his imagination” of how she would look like, and that she has “the most blissful look”.

This piece of good news was very timely for Monster, occurring just before the Mid-autumn Festival (21 September) that celebrates family reunion. A number of celebrities, including Jay Chou and Stefanie Sun, have left congratulatory messages on Monster’s Instagram post.

His fans are also generally happy and surprised with the news. One netizen said, “Here comes Little Monster!”

Monster is the second last of the five-member Mayday to become a father — only the lead vocalist Ashin is not yet married or does not have a child. Indeed, like what one of his fans mentioned, “the mini Mayday is lacking a lead vocalist.”
