Chelsea have earned just five points from six home matches under Pochettino having lost 2-0 at home to Brentford on Saturday afternoon.
Goals from Ethan Pinnock and Bryan Mbeumo have left Chelsea on a barren run of one home league win in 13 matches, with Thomas Frank's sides having won twice at Stamford Bridge across those seven months.
Having previously dismissed the impact of Chelsea's legacy problems, Pochettino now accepts that some issues remain.
"Yes, it is something we need to fix," he said of his team's woes. "We have tried to identify [it]. But it not only happened this season but also last season with different coaches.
"I don’t say I am worried but I feel I need to find the solution. I think we need to be more mature, we are still so young as a team, I don’t mean the age of the players but as a team, we need to be better."
The atmosphere inside the stadium is becoming increasingly tepid with supporters understandably concerned having dropped into 11th in the Premier League.
Asked about what it will take to rebuild a fear factor for teams coming to west London, Pochettino stated: "It is about creating a good atmosphere.
"You need to be in the right way with the fans and the team. The team needs to translate ideas that fans can trust.
"Of course, it works both ways and it is only a matter of time because we have so many talented players but we are still so young as a team.
"Of course, it is not easy to build trust, be mature and accept sometimes. Sometimes the game is going in a direction you don’t want but you have to be calm as a character and say, 'Hey, let’s play the way we should play the game'. For that to happen, you need time and it is about the maturity to get it.
"This is not about the mentality of the club and badge because Chelsea is built on victories and a strong mentality to win.
"It is not about the badge, club or fans. It’s about the team being young and we need to match this level of capacity to compete always at your best."
Pochettino added: "We are competing but missing things. I think when we have all the players fit we will have the right balance."
Chelsea hope to recover some of their nine injured players when they face Blackburn in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday before a trip to league leaders Tottenham kickstarts a difficult run of league matches.
