Matt Gaetz To Host One America News Network Primetime Show

Matt Gaetz, the former congressman who recently had a brief tenure as President-elect Donald Trump’s choice to serve as attorney general, will host a new talk show on One America News Network, with the program set to launch in January.

The Matt Gaetz Show will be part of the Trump-supporting network’s primetime lineup, airing at 9 p.m. ET every weeknight.

Gaetz also will host a weekly podcast with Dan Ball that will launch in January.

Gaetz was briefly nominated by Trump to serve as attorney general. But Gaetz dropped out of the confirmation process amid GOP Senate opposition, with concerns over the findings in a report being compiled by the House Ethics Committee. Gaetz has denied claims that he had sexual relations with a minor.

Gaetz led the ouster of House Speaker Kevin McCarthy last year. McCarthy has accused Gaetz of orchestrating his removal because he refused to work to drop the House ethics investigation.

In a statement, Gaetz said, “OAN is blazing a trail in media, embracing not just traditional news but the platforms where Americans are going—streaming, apps, podcasts, and social media. I couldn’t be more thrilled to join OAN’s forward-thinking team and be part of this revolutionary expansion.”

Gaetz was first elected in 2017 and resigned from the House shortly after his nomination for attorney general. He had been re-elected for another term in the November election, but chose not to return to Congress.
