Another week, another drama on MasterChef.
This week it was ‘Sweet Week’ but some viewers weren’t so sweet with the judges’ choices on Sunday night’s show.
Many fans took to social media to accuse Gary Mehigan, George Calombaris, Matt Preston and guest judge Adriano Zumbo of favouritism, after praising contestant Ben Borsht for his dessert dish.
The Queenslander dished up four meringue kisses served with a curd which left all four judges with smiles on their faces.

However, viewers were left baffled over the judges’ choices due to Ben’s “basic dessert”.
Sorry but how did they pick Ben??? That wasn’t even inventive! #MasterChefAU

As much as I like Ben and I'm sure his dish was delicious, I don't understand what is inventive about meringue kisses and passionfruit curd. My granny used to make both of those. #MasterchefAU

Another labelled the show as “rigged”.
#MasterChefAU what a Croc Ben. No offence but they are pulling you through mate. Looks rigged!

One other eagle-eyed fan pointed out the judges praised Ben for the “simplicity” of his dish, but criticised others for their simplicity.
Also don’t you love how they always love the ‘simplicity’ of Ben’s dishes but criticize the simplicity of others. Hmmm interesting #MasterChefAU

One fan even noted how Ben was “the favourite”.
While none of the judges have responded to the criticism on social media, it seems Matt Preston has no regrets, sharing a video of himself licking his fingers after the episode aired.
“Just about sums up tonight’s episode! @masterchefau,” he wrote.
Well you know what they say, everyone’s tastebuds are different.
