During the episode, it was revealed that Chris is married to his fellow MasterChef contestant Julia Jenkins, who he met during season one of the show.
Julia, who was 23 during her time on the show in 2009, placed fifth, while Chris, who was 41 at the time, came third.
When they first got together, their relationship was seen to be quite controversial, firstly, because of their age difference, and secondly, because Chris was already in a relationship when he went on the show.
His former girlfriend Gemma Pritchard spoke to New Idea, saying she felt "totally humiliated" after finding out he'd met someone else through the show.
“I didn't ask for any of this. I wasn't the one signing up for a reality TV show. We've been together four years. I've met all his friends, he's met mine. It's no secret," she said.
However, Chris told The Daily Telegraph that he and Julia had both recently come out of relationships that "ended independently of our friendship".
He added, "It's early days, but at the moment we're just good friends."
They later married in 2013 with some fans suggesting their love story is more successful that those created from reality dating shows.
Chris & Julia is probably a more solid relationship than any couple that a reality dating show could produce. #MasterChefAU— Isobel Ardent (@isobelardent) May 10, 2020
So Master Chef has had a successful match/marriage Chris and Julia - well that's better success rate than most of the reality match making shows #MasterChefAU— Stay at home Jane (@austenite20) May 10, 2020
