Lindsay Lohan spills major Masked Singer secret at Melbourne Cup

The Masked Singer judge Lindsay Lohan, 33, may have unwittingly revealed a surprising secret about the hit reality TV show’s highly-anticipated second season.

The Freaky Friday star appeared to confirm that the runaway ratings success is relocating to another city for round two during a chat with Studio 10’s Angela Bishop at Tuesday’s Melbourne Cup.

Former child star Lindsay, who was a special guest at the race that stops the nation, told Angela that the celebrity singing competition will film its sophomore season in Melbourne, not Sydney.

Masked Singer’s big move

While pressing Lindsay for details on season two, Ang out-right asked if filming was going to take place in Melbourne.

“Yes, I believe so,” Lilo replied cautiously, perhaps unsure if the move was a secret or not.

The American-born star appeared to relax and opened up about her love for Victoria’s capital, comparing it to two cosmopolitan cities overseas.

“I’m excited to do it [film] in Melbourne, it’s a different energy. It’s like London and New York had a baby and that’s Melbourne,” she added.

Ang a Masked Singer guest?

Lilo went so far as to suggest that Ang should be a guest panellist on the show, which the latter thought was a ‘great idea’.

“Let’s talk to people!” Ang announced.

It appears that the pair have become firm friends during Lilo’s time down under, with the US star calling the Aussie TV host ‘such a good person’ before revealing that they regularly keep in touch via WhatsApp.

While the reason behind The Masked Singer’s surprise relocation is unclear, it may be motivated by security concerns. It was no secret that producers faced a major headache when it came to protecting the identity of the season one stars.

In a massive blooper, the man behind the Wolf mask, singer and Neighbours star Rob ‘Millsy’ Mills, was spectacularly exposed immediately after the show’s premiere.

Despite rampant speculation to the contrary, Lilo was confirmed as a returning judge along with her three fellow season one panellists Dannii Minogue, Dave ‘Hughesy’ Hughes and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson.

Lilo’s new music

Elsewhere in their chat, Lindsay spruiked her 25-year-old little sister Aliana Lohan’s new music following the release of her single “Long Way Down” late last year.

But it appears that Lindsay herself has some tunes on the way as well - her first since 2005.

“I’m finishing [my] record,” she told Ang, adding that she’s also ‘managing’ her sister.

“I’m a ‘sistager,’” she joked.

Lindsay had a very close brush with Aliana’s former flame, Aussie singer Cody Simpson, who won the inaugural season of The Masked Singer.

The protective older sister shocked viewers when she asked Cody - who is now dating Miley Cyrus - to return the furniture she bought for the love birds’ new pad in 2018.
