LASD's Homicide Division has reportedly launched an investigation into her death, though, so far, there has been no evidence of foul play. An official determination wont be made until after investigators receive the results of Santangelo's autopsy.

Santangelo could also be seen in episodes of CSI: Miami and ER and in Hollywood Homicide alongside Harrison Ford and Josh Hartnett. Her final screen appearance came as Angelica the Dancer in 2009's The Bo-Bo & Skippy Show.

She's also been featured in a variety of music videos, including Young MC’s "Bust a Move," which launched her career in 1989.

She later lent her voice to Jane’s Addiction’s "Stop," earning her a new nickname from frontman Perry Farrell: “the Latin Marilyn Monroe.”
