Yahoo Lifestyle Mark DeRosa dishes about some of his ex-teammates on 'Old Baseball Cards'
Mark DeRosa is one of the best people talking about baseball today — and he proves it on an all-new episode of “Old Baseball Cards,” Yahoo Sports’ baseball-card driven nostalgia show.
DeRosa, one of the top personalities on MLB Network, joins us to open packs of 1990 Topps and 1999 Fleer Ultra. He talks about some ex-teammates, current co-workers and even the time he made Mike Piazza mad during his second big-league at-bat. Things start off slow, as DeRosa picked a pack of commons, but we give him the first-ever mulligan on the history of “Old Baseball Cards” and things turn around.
After playing in the big leagues for 16 years, DeRosa took his turn as an analyst, but he’s still been pegged as a future manager. We talk about that, plus his history collecting cards and even briefly touch on his time as a college football player. When the baseball season starts on July 23, you can catch DeRosa back on “MLB Central,” MLB Network’s daily morning show.
