Veteran Channel 10 presenter Sandra Sully has spoken out about the bullying she endured by a female colleague for 10 years.

Sully, 48, told Cleo magazine: “She was a colleague who tormented me or tried to torment me for nearly 10 years. Her behaviour was underhanded and deceitful.”

Despite regretting that she didn’t report the abuse earlier, Sully acknowledges that speaking out allows others in her situation to come forward.

“It’s not just about yourself, but also the people who follow you. You create a better work environment if you stand up.”

Sully’s Twitter feed was inundated on Monday, with people sharing their own experiences and offering their support.

Channel 7’s Chris Bath tweeted: "BRAVO @Sandra_Sully for your candour about that hideous workplace bully you had to deal with for 10 years @channelten #zero-tolerance."

The Australian Human Rights Commission describes workplace bullying as “verbal, physical, social or psychological abuse by your employer (or manager), another person or group of people at work”.
