Usually the messages in school bathrooms are full of expletives and aren't exactly, inspirational...

However a bunch of female students at Trinity Academy high school in Wichita, Kansas decided they were sick of the focus always being placed on outward beauty and so they covered their bathroom mirrors in brown paper.

The students then covered them in inspirational messages and notes ranging from passages from the Bible, to F. Scott Fitzgerald to pop culture references and songs, all in the hope of inspiring others to value their inner beauty.

GRIL UNDRESSES IN PUBLIC TO SEND A POWERFUL MESSAGE

In an interview with KWCH-TV, student Jordan Melugin explained the ladies’ intentions were to inspire confidence and acceptance in their fellow students.

“I really hope that people will see this and see that there are girls out there who are encouraging other girls to just be who they are,” Melugin said.

“Everywhere you look you hear people talking about being body-shamed or hating their image,” she added.

“Especially as freshmen and sophomores, you’re trying to find your identity and who you are and we want them to find their identity in God and in Christ and not in a mirror and not what their outward appearance looks like,” added senior student Hannah Hancock.

While the act and it's message appear to be a positive one, one Jezebel tipster, isn't convinced.

The user, whose siblings attended the school, believes the move was in fact just another way of shaming girls about their bodies.

“I get that it’s trying to be positive about the girls...but it feels to me like they’re papering over the mirror because they can’t go all out and ask the girls to wear paper bags themselves," said the tipster.

"Believe me, I grew up in this culture, and being told ‘your beauty should not come from outward adornment!!!’ just sounds like MORE exhausting shaming and policing... leaving that culture has given me significant mental health gains.”
