Blogger's Domestic Violence Awareness Video Goes Viral

Blogger's Domestic Violence Awareness Video Goes Viral

A popular Irish fitness blogger named Emma Murphy has posted a courageous video online urging victims of domestic violence to seek help.

The 26-year old, who sports a visibly black eye in the video, carefully explains that after three years of dating, she has been forced to walk away from her partner after he continually physically abused her.

The defining moment came last week, she says, when she confronted him about his cheating ways, and he responded by punching her in the face.

"For the last year and a half, I've been told I'm paranoid, I'm a psycho, I'm nuts, my insecurities will kill me someday," says Murphy. /;And you know what? After Friday's events, I finally realised this is not acceptable. No man has any right to put his hands on a woman.

"I've had the courage to walk away."

Murphy urges others in a similar position to seek help, calling any form of violence "unacceptable", no matter how many times it's occurred.

"Even once is unacceptable, but to be made to feel that it is acceptable is even worse," explains Murphy. "To be made to be told you're paranoid or insecure, that's mental torture, and no man should do that to any woman."
Murphy bravely finishes with a plea to anyone who has viewed the video to please share it to raise awareness of domestic violence.

"If you feel like you can't walk away - that it's not safe - you have to. If it happens once, it will happen again.

"I hope I've raised awareness. If it has hit anyone's heart, please share the video."
