Ever wished you could request a female taxi driver to drive you home late at night? Well, there’s an app for that.

Launching in New York next week, SheRides is Uber for women, providing female drivers for female passengers, The New York Times reports.

The service – which features drivers outfitted in pink pashmina wraps – aims to make women comfortable in the taxi experience, whether being driven home late at night or heading to an important business meeting.

SheRides’s New York founder, Stella Mateo, noticed a gap in the market when she searched for a female driver who could take her two daughters to after school activities when they were children. In the time-honoured tradition of app development, Mateo decided to fill that gap with her own taxi business. And she should know what the industry needs best – her husband, Fernando, is the founder of the New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers.

The best part of the app? If you have a man in your party, it automatically redirects you to other cab services. Sorry fellas, this business is ladies only.
