James Franco is well known for his bizarre paintings, with a unique collection of animals, birds and abstract portraits of himself and famous friends amongst the few publicly known works. The Academy Award nominee even set up his own KickStarter page to fundraise for a collaboration project with conceptual art duo Praxis, in which they produced ‘non-visible’ written description art. The peculiar enterprise has amassed over $16,000 since its launch in 2011.

The 127 Hours star has been known to share somewhat unexpectedly provocative selfies with his 5.4 million Instagram followers. Even Dave Franco, the method actor’s younger brother, has confessed, “Compared to some of the other weird things he’s doing, this seems like a refined act!”

The Hollywood radical proved he was unpredictable yet again when he announced that he would be writing a book of partially fabricated interviews with songstress Lana Del Rey. Co-written with author David Shield, the 100-page book entitled ‘Flip-Side: Real and Imaginary Conversations With Lana Del Rey’ comes after the entertainer penned a public poetic-ode to the singer-songwriter in V Magazine.

Later last year, the actor, filmmaker, poet and mystery man interviewed himself yet again in a conversation between ‘Boy James’ and ‘Girl James’ in a display of whimsicality that left readers puzzled to say the least.
