Tyra Banks Welcomes Baby Boy

Supermodel Tyra Banks has welcomed a baby boy via surrogate with her partner, Erik Asia.

The America’s Next Top Model host announced the news on Instagram an hour ago with the below picture alongside the caption, “The best present we worked and prayed so hard for is finally here.

“He's got my fingers and big eyes and his daddy Erik's mouth and chin. As we thank the angel of a woman that carried our miracle baby boy for us, we pray for everyone who struggles to reach this joyous milestone. York Banks Asla, welcome to the world.”

Banks has been vocal about her fertility struggles for some time – in September, the supermodel revealed she’s constantly asked why she doesn’t have kids.

"I just feel like we're so hard on each other and judgemental of each other,” said Banks at the time. “And a woman that is divorced three times is more normal than a woman who has not been married. I'm so tired of seeing on my social media, 'Why don't you have kids?' You don't know!

"You don't know what I'm going through. You have no idea."

Banks also revealed she had been planning for kids from the age of 23.

"When I was 23 years old I used to tell myself in three years I'm going to have kids, then I'd turn 24 and I'd tell myself, in three year's in going to have kids,” she explained. “And every single year I kept saying that, and then after a while it's like, ok now I want to, and it's not easy."

It seems Banks has finally gotten her wish.
