Amal Clooney Thinks Her Engagement Ring Is Too *Bling* For Work

Last April, George Clooney gifted Amal Clooney (née Alamuddin) with an engagement ring worth $950 000. And while the seven-carat ring is nice and all, she has decided that it’s too glitzy for her job as a human rights lawyer.

ICYMI: George’s better half is quite distinguished in her field of human rights law. She represented WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange and was previously senior advisor to UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan. Oh, and she also lectures on the subject of human rights law at Columbia Law School.

Understandably, Amal feels that the sparkler takes away from the seriousness of her work.

According to reports, she has chosen to leave the engagement ring at home during work hours, choosing to don her wedding band instead.
