After recently revealing her struggle to conceive, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have taken to Instagram to reveal they are expecting their first child.

The 29-year-old model shared a sweet snap of the couple, with her Grammy-winning husband cradling her stomach.

"John and I are so happy to announce that we are pregnant :) As many of you know, we've been trying to have a baby for a while now," she wrote alongside the photo.

"It hasn't been easy, but we kept trying because we can't wait to bring our first child into the world and grow our family. We're so excited that it's finally happening. Thank you for all your love and well wishes. I look forward to all the belly touching! Xx"

Chrissy and John tied the knot in September 2013 and the model recently opened up about struggling to conceive and the pressure faced by women to have children.

"I will say honestly, John and I are having trouble," Chrissy revealed on an episode of her talk show FABLife.

"We would have kids five, six years ago if it'd happened. But my gosh, it's been a process!"

"We've seen fertility doctors. And then once you open up about all those things to other people, you start learning that a lot of people in your life are seeing these people, and they have this shame about it."
