It’s been seven years since Heath Ledger’s tragic death – and 10 years since they appeared on-screen together in Brokeback Mountain – and his one-time co-star and longterm friend Jake Gyllenhaal still misses him.
Speaking to American radio station NPR last week, the 34-year old Oscar-nominee revealed that he often thinks of his old buddy and his extraordinary talent.

“I miss working with him and what an unfortunate thing it is that we won’t be able to see the beauty of his expression… I know, not only can this career end in a very short period of time and this or that can happen, but also that lie is precious.”
“I think losing Heath and being a part of a family that was something like the movie, that movie we all made together, makes you see appreciate that and hopefully moves you away from the things that really don’t matter to the things that do,” Gyllenhaal concluded, adding “I miss him as a human being.”
