Cara Delevingne may be one of biggest models in the industry today, but that doesn’t mean her transition into film has been the smoothest. In a recent interview, she revealed that when she struggled to cope with the harsh realities of the movie industry, her best friend/life coach Rihanna gave her some much-needed advice.

After failing to land a role in a Beach Boys movie, Delevingne told the Wall Street Journal that Rihanna counselled her, saying “Everything happens for a reason. You are going to call me back up in a week or two, and you are going to say to me, ‘you are right.’”

And, sure enough, a few weeks later the supermodel landed her first major leading role in Hollywood as Margot in the forthcoming young adult romance Paper Towns.

But Hollywood rejection hasn’t been easy for Delevingne. The model told the publication that the first part she missed out on left her “heartbroken”.

“With modelling, if someone else gets a job, I’m like, yeah, of course, there are so many better models. But with acting, you grow such an attachment to each role.”
