Kristen Stewart Will Star In A Fashion Industry Horror Movie

Is Kristen Stewart quitting Hollywood for good? The actress – once a teen dream queen as Bella Swan in the vampire Twilight franchise – hasn’t made a big budget popcorn flick in years. Instead, she’s been favouring small independent dramas (On The Road) and – surprisingly but successfully – French films.

Her first foreign movie – Clouds Of Sils Maria, with Juliette Binoche and director Olivia Assayas – won her a Cesar, the French equivalent of an Oscar. Stewart is the first American actress in history to receive that honour.

Now, Stewart will return to the scene of the crime, with the leading role in Assayas’ new movie: Personal Shopper. The film promises to be a horror film about the French fashion industry. Ghosts will play a prominent role. Sounds to us like a cross between The Devil Wears Prada and The Ring. Count us in.

Filming will commence in Paris later this year. There’s no word yet on whether Chanel will play a part in the production of this film. The luxury fashion brand was listed as a producer on Clouds Of Sils Maria – the first time the label has ever been so closely involved with a film – and is closely aligned to Stewart, who was a one-time face of the brand. But will the subject matter of this movie hit too close to home? Are there ghosts rattling around Coco Chanel’s famous Parisian apartment?
