Prince Harry is the world’s most eligible bachelor, and if the matter was up to him, that title wouldn’t change any time soon. In a revealing and candid interview with The Sunday Mirror marking the end of his tour of New Zealand, the 30-year old ginger-haired Prince laughed off comments about his sad state of singledom.

“I’m not Bridget Jones,” Prince Harry joked, speaking freely in the rare and frank interview. “For me, it’s good – I’m very happy not having a girlfriend. It’s not a case of anything… I’m not, sort of, looking, it’s cool.”

In the past, the bachelor Prince has been linked to 26-year old British socialite Cressida Bonas, with whom he had a three-year relationship. Prior to that, his last serious relationship was with Zimbabwean Chelsy Davy, which ended in 2011.

The Prince, who has been in Australia and New Zealand on and off for the past month, is set to return to the United Kingdom this week. The Prince is predicted to make a beeline to Kensington Palace to see his two-week-old niece Princess Charlotte for the first time.

In the interview Prince Harry also spoke about his love of the armed forces and his hope that his niece and nephew might follow his footsteps into the Army at some point in the future.

“I would definitely encourage George, and Charlotte if she wants to, to have some sort of involvement in the Armed Forces, guaranteed,” Prince Harry said.

“And I know that William and Catherine would probably echo that as well, depending on the situation for them in those years to come.”
