You probably read the above headline and scoffed - what on earth could Gwyneth Paltrow have in common with the average woman?

After all, she's an A-list movie star, with a string of high-profile exes and a website that's out of touch with reality right?

But before you judge her, let's look at the facts.

When Gwyneth made this comment in CNN Money today, it was taken entirely out of context. She wasn't insinuating that she's just like your average women (after all, this is an actress who has made a living out of her upper class lifestyle).

But Paltrow makes a good point when her quote is properly put into context:

"I'm incredibly close to the common woman in that I am a woman. And I'm a mother. And we all are in a physical body with beating hearts, with compassion and love and we are all seekers we all want fulfillment, we want to live our best lives, we want to be healthy and happy and squeeze the most that we can out of life. I think that's all women."

Paltrow does admit that her life doesn't exactly emulate every other woman's, but unsurprisingly she did defend GOOP:

"I always say that when people make that false assumption, it's because they haven't actually gone to the site and seen what we're selling and what we're about. We have products on the site that are under $10, we have products on the site that are $500. The idea is that we're gonna find the best thing whatever it is at any price point."

So yes, GOOP may be difficult to relate to at times, and you may roll your eyes at her (sometimes) inane comments, but this time it seems Paltrow was simply trying to relate to other women. And we can hardly fault her for that.
