5 Times Jon Hamm Was Funnier Than You Realised

Jon Hamm playing the familiar role of Don Draper in Mad Men.

Jon Hamm does a wonderful job at playing the ever-serious ladies man Don Draper in Mad Men. But we’ll have you know that he has a funny side too! Here are 5 times he made us laugh out loud:

30 Rock

1. 30 Rock

He made a brief, 3-episode appearance as Liz Lemon’s neighbour on 30 Rock. Hamm played a divorced gentlemen who began getting Lemon’s mail. As always, shenanigans ensued. He won her over with the phrase, “Sorry I smell like frosting, I just love to bake.”

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

2. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

Hamm made another brief 3-epidsode appearance, this time in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt as charismatic cult leader Richard Wayne Gary Wayne. As it turns out, the terms ‘cult leader’ and ‘charismatic’ aren’t mutually exclusive.

3. Saturday Night Live

Hamm has become somewhat of a fixture on SNL. Picking our favourite skit is like choosing between our children, but we think this Jon Hamm’s John Ham skit is pretty good.

Bridesmaids

4. Bridesmaids

In Bridesmaids, Hamm plays Kristen Wiig’s somewhat sleazy friend-with-benefits. In a similar manner to Donald Draper, his character Ted is a bit of a heartbreaker.

Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis

5. Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis

Galifianakis is hilarious and Hamm handles the interview like a pro… an unimpressed pro.
