Supermodel Lara Stone has reportedly split from her husband of five years, David Walliams.

While no reason for the breakup has been revealed, it's reportedly left close friends confused, particularly seeing as the pair welcomed a child less than two years ago.

"David hopes it is a blip and that they can get the marriage back on track somehow, especially seeing as there is a child involved," a source told The Mirror UK. "He is still fiercely protective of Lara."

The split is thought to be a trial, with Lara, 31, leaving their London home along with their son Alfred.

"David has been putting on a brave face," the source added. "But people close to him are very worried because they know he's devastated."

Stone has made no secret of the fact that it's been difficult to get back into work following her pregnancy, telling Sunday Style that the whole experience had been "frightening".

"Being pregnant affected my work quite early on - it's not like you can work until you're eight months pregnant," Stone explained. "It was quite frightening seeing my body change so much."

The model, who says she "ballooned" during pregnancy, admitted she worried about the impact of the weight gain on her body, because her body is her "job and livelihood".

"Also, I like working and I don't like sitting around at home, so I really wanted to get back into things," continued Stone. "It's nice once the baby's here, but then I was like, 'I really want to do something again.'
