Kendall Jenner Is Unrecognisable At The Chanel Show

Of all the presentations on the couture calendar, the Chanel show is always one of the most highly anticipated.

This season, Lagerfeld transported guests including Kristen Stewart and Julianne Moore to a makeshift casino complete with roulette tables and a Chanel slot machine – but most of the audience attention was on Kendall Jenner, who was almost unrecognisable as the Chanel "bride" in a white tuxedo gown and short, sharp wig.

The appointment was a clear sign from Lagerfeld that Jenner has reached the pinnacle of the fashion industry, with the Chanel “bride” reserved for his favourite supermodel.

It’s also the first time Jenner has walked the Chanel runway without Cara Delevingne, cementing her status as one of the world’s most in-demand models – a far cry from her initial beginnings in the industry.

"You have no idea how many doors closed on me and how many adults were either initially reluctant to take a chance working with me or who outright laughed at me behind my back," Jenner said earlier this year.

"It was kind of hard because all I was doing was going on go-sees, trying my best to break into this business as a teenager. I am so grateful to Marc Jacobs, Riccardo Tisci, Karl Lagerfeld, and Katie Grand, who took a chance on me that first season and gave me an opportunity. My parents taught me that work ethic is one of the most important keys in life, and I believe it."
