Kate Middleton has been praised for her maternity style in the leadup to the birth of her second baby, but it hasn’t been achieved without a hefty price tag.

The Duchess maintained her impeccable aesthetic with a $60,000 wardrobe, mostly consisting of designer finds in muted tones of blue, black and grey.

Apart from a $70 ASOS dress, the Duchess opted to stay on the fashion radar in designs by Alexander McQueen, Jenny Packham and Diane Von Furstenberg. The most expensive item on her list, a $6,700 Jenny Packham gown, was custom-designed for the Duchess, who wore it to the St. Andrews 600th Anniversary dinner.

Similarly, she wore a $3,800 baby blue Jenny Packham dress to the 2014 Wildlife Photograph Award, cementing her loyalty to the designer.

Middleton also wore Alexander McQueen several times throughout her second pregnancy, with the most expensive item on the list, a gorgeous grey tweed coat, coming in at $5,800.

But despite some of the high-hitting designer numbers, the Duchess also maintained her penchant for chainstore chic, appearing in a $70 ASOS polka dot dress that sold out almost instantly, and a $190 Seraphine maternity dress.

With the birth of Royal baby number 2 just mere days away though, we’re betting the Duchess’s wardrobe is the last thing on her mind right now.

Reports indicate that Middleton will be taking a longer maternity leave this time around in order to spend more time with both her children.

"She felt she came back too soon last time," a source told People magazine. She wants to have that [family] and enjoy it with George and the new baby."
