Start saving now: the new H&M designer collaboration has been announced, and it’s nothing short of amazing.

Balenciaga’s new creative director, Alexander Wang, is set to release a capsule collection for the chainstore on November 6 – and the good news is, Australians will also be privy to the line.

Wang took to social media to announce the news yesterday, posting a video to Instagram which quickly garnered 1000 likes in under an hour.

"I am honored to be a part of H&M’s designer collaborations,” said Wang. “The work with their team is an exciting, fun process. They are very open to push boundaries and to set a platform for creativity. This will be a great way for a wider audience to experience elements of the Alexander Wang brand and lifestyle."

The lookbook is yet to be released, but we can guarantee this will be one of the most in-demand H&M collections ever: after all, Wang is known for his on-trend, wearable designs, which have achieved cult status in the fashion industry.

"Alexander Wang is one of the most important voices in fashion today," said H&M's creative advisor Margareta van den Bosch. "He understands exactly what people want to wear and does it with an energy and passion that's infectious. It feels incredible to be collaborating with him this year."

Wang follows in the footsteps of French designer Isabel Marant, whose H&M collection sold out nearly instantly when it launched in November 2013. Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney and Lanvin have also achieved similar success with their designer collaborations.
