Highlights from MBFWA 2014 Day 2

Most talked about show: Toni Maticevski, which was described by marie claire’s fashion market editor, Bree McDonald, as “the highlight of the week so far”. His attention to detail served to highlight why he’s one of Australia’s brightest design stars.

The We Are Handsome show also had the fashion set buzzing with its bright, colourful swimwear designs – and the addition of a live yellow python.

Quote of the day: “All the good-looking men here are straight. What’s with that? Isn’t it a rule that all men at Fashion Week have to be gay?”

Number of outfit changes: Three on average for most celebrities: imagine the confusion for the PR people trying to seat them at shows.

Famous front row faces: Ricki Lee Coutler was a regular at most shows throughout the day, while Victoria’s Secret model Shanina Shaik was spotted at the Swarovski hub.

What everyone was wearing: Hemlines were low and colour palettes were dark: we might be celebrating the spring/summer season, but everyone was very much in autumn/winter mode.

Other notes: We’ve spotted a lot of people tripping over in their high heels – and not just on the runway. Be careful fashion-goers!
