She's the most pampered kitten in the fashion world - and now Karl Lagerfeld's cat, Choupette, has just been given a book deal.

The fluffy white feline will feature in 'Choupette: The Private Life of a High-Flying Fashion Cat', set for release in September.

If you're scratching your head as to how a cat can fill up 128 pages, wonder no more: this pampered Persian has two 24-hour maids and eats her meals at the table from real crockery alongside Lagerfeld.

Choupette is a constant companion for the Chanel design maestro, who takes his cat everywhere on his travels - with a few exceptions.

"He refuses to go to countries with quarantine, as he doesn't want us to be separated," explained Choupette in her first interview. "I more often go to Rome and Monte-Carlo."

Choupette credits her two maids, Francoise and Marjorie, with her impeccable upbringing.

"From the first day, they took care of me with a lot of love and complete devotion," she explains. "I am cherished, cared for, pampered, and brushed like a princess!"

The constant pampering is in stark contrast to that of her former owner, model Baptiste Giabiconi, who incidentally didn't have time to look after the kitten - and therefore gave her to Lagerfeld, who instantly fell for her.

"I would marry her if I could," Lagerfeld admitted. "She has become the most famous cat in the world. I even get propositioned by pet food companies and things like that, but it's out of the question. I'm commercial. She's not."
