Jennifer Hawkins The New Host Of Australia’s Next Top Model

Supermodel Jennifer Hawkins is the new host of TV series Australia’s Next Top Model.

The 28-year old Myer ambassador announced the news on the Kyle and Jackie O radio show this morning, saying she’d found it difficult to keep the news a secret for the last few months.

“When people asked, I said I have no idea but in my mind I was saying, 'Yes! I am the host,’” said Hawkins.

The supermodel replaces Sarah Murdoch, who famously announced the wrong winner in 2010 due to a production mix up.

Other names including Miranda Kerr and Megan Gale were considered for the coveted role, with the latter taking to Twitter to congratulate Hawkins.

“FINALLY after keeping this fab secret on the DL I can welcome @jenhawkins_ to the @FOXTEL family,” Gale wrote.

Meanwhile, Hawkins herself could barely contain her excitement over the new gig, tweeting this morning, “Wow! What a morning. Media, media.... Just signed on to host AustNextTopModel. Celebration !!!”

Hawkins is no stranger to television, having appeared on several shows including The Great Outdoors and more noteably, Make Me A Supermodel alongside marie claire’s editor, Jackie Frank.
