Cyber Monday Coming To Australia

The Australian version of Cyber Monday, one of the biggest online shopping days in the US, is set to launch locally on November 20.

Branded as “the sale that stops a nation,” the Click Frenzy initiative kicks off on November 20 at 7pm, with retailers including Myer, Westfield, The Iconic and 150 other retailers offering between 15 – 90% off stock in the lead-up to Christmas.

“We're expecting a record volume of transactions on the day,” said Click Frenzy event organiser, Grant Arnott. “It's hard to say exactly how much but we expect it will be tens of millions of dollars.”

Cyber Monday, which launched in America in 2006, now attracts over 10 million shoppers and over 700 online retailers, a feat which Arnott hopes to emulate on a local scale.

“The whole aim of Click Frenzy is to stimulate activity in the online retail space for the benefit of all Australian retailers whether they are online or multichannel, Arnott said. We want to establish this as an annual event before Cyber Monday really takes hold here and give Australian retailers a much needed boost ahead of Christmas.”

Consumers can register their details on clickfrenzy.com.au to be notified in advance of the sale.
