Get Glowing Skin In 3 Easy Steps

Celebrity make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury explains how to get glowing skin at any age.

Same technique, new name: "strobing is highlighting – it’s just the latest term", explains Tilbury.

1. Before using a highlighter, prep your skin. Start with a hydrating cleansing balm, moisturiser, an illuminating primer, base and concealer on any imperfections.

Ageless tip: The older you are, the more important these steps become – properly rehydrating skin helps “smooth out lines and close up the pores”, says Tilbury. 2

2.To spotlight cheekbones, take a sculpting brush, “suck in your cheeks and dust highlighter along the top of the hollow”, advises Tilbury. Apply a little down the bridge of the nose, under the brow bones and on the cupid’s bow, too.

Ageless tip: “Cream highlighter is fne if you’re in your 20s, but don’t use too much or you may look sweaty or like a disco ball,” advises Tilbury. “Women 40 and over should stick with powder as it gives a more polished, Jennifer Lopez kind of glow.”

3. To make eyes appear wider, use a smudging brush to apply highlighter on the inner corners of the eyes.

Ageless tip: "There is such a thing as too shiny," warns Tilbury, so keep the forehead, eyelids, chin, cheeks and jawline matt.
