Yahoo Lifestyle Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’ Rings in the Holiday Season at No. 1
The countdown to the holidays has officially begun with the re-entry of Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” on the Billboard Hot 100.
The 1994 hit makes its sixth annual return on the singles charts with 38 million streams and 24 million radio airplay audience impressions, according to Luminate. “All I Want” takes the top spot from Kendrick Lamar’s “Squabble Up,” which ruled the Dec. 7-dated chart as part of its parent LP, “GNX’s” debut. Lamar still appears in No.s 4, 6 and 7 with “TV Off,” “Luther,” and “Squabble Up,” respectively.

The longest-running No. 1 single of 2024, Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” slips to No. 8, while Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ Grammy-nominated “Die With a Smile” is at No. 9. The lone single is up for song and best pop duo performance of the year at the upcoming 2025 ceremony.
The remainder of the top 10 is composed of holiday favorites. Brenda Lee’s 66 year-old “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” follows Carey at No. 2. The song logs nearly 36 million streams and 20 million in airplay audience impressions. Wham!’s “Last Christmas” is at No. 3 on the Hot 100; Bobby Helms’ “Jingle Bell Rock” is at No. 5 and Burl Ives’ “A Holly Jolly Christmas” rounds out the top at No. 10.
The only festive albums on the Billboard 200 this week are Michael Bublé’s “Christmas” (at No. 7), and Bing Crosby’s “Ultimate Christmas” at No. 9. That list is ruled by Taylor Swift’s “The Tortured Poets Department” for a 16th non-consecutive week.
