Margot Robbie was 'humiliated' by Barbie photo leaks: 'Mortified'

Margot Robbie has admitted that she felt ‘humiliated’ after photos of her playing Barbie went viral.

The former Neighbours star was filming with costar Ryan Gosling when the pair were photographed, with both wearing bright multicoloured clothing and neon yellow roller skates.

Margot, 32, is playing the title role in the hotly anticipated film, directed by Ladybird’s Greta Gerwig.

In an interview with Jimmy Fallon, the actress recalled what it felt like to be spotted in costume at Venice Beach in Los Angeles.

“I can’t tell you how mortified we were by the way,” she said, while looking at a photo of the pair as their Barbie characters.

“We look like we’re laughing, having fun, but are dying on the inside,” she quipped.

While the host assured Margot that she looked ‘cool’, she said it was ‘the most humiliating moment of her life’.

The photos quickly went viral and were spread everywhere, something the Suicide Squad actress never expected.

“I knew that we had some exteriors to shoot in LA, I knew okay, once you’re doing exteriors, you’re gonna get papped.

“There’s probably going to be a little crowd of people who are going to take notice, because you know, the fluoro. We stand out a little in those outfits,” she told Jimmy.

Margot said she had expected a small crowd and a ‘little attention’, but was confronted with a ‘mad’ crowd of hundreds of people.

Earlier in the show, the Aussie star presented Jimmy with a classic Australian dish for his birthday — the humble fairy bread.

The entire crowd sang Happy Birthday before he blew out the candles.

“Fairy bread is white bread, the cheaper the better, butter, and then sprinkles on top,” Margot explained.

Jimmy took a bite and said that it was ‘fantastic’, before continuing the interview.
