Maren Morris celebrates 'mom bellies' in mirror selfie

Maren Morris is receiving praise for celebrating her postpartum body.

The 31-year-old country singer gave birth to her first son, Hayes Hurd, with husband Ryan Hurd nearly two years ago, but on Saturday she posted a photo embracing how her body has since changed.

"In this house we stan mom bellies," she captioned the Instagram Story photo before posting it to Twitter.

A ton of women responded to the post applauding her.

"Seeing a uterus for the win!" one person commented. Another wrote, "Bellies, thighs, minds, all of it is gorgeous. You are a QUEEN!!"

Others seemed to relate to Morris and the way that her body has evolved since giving birth.

"Our babies called it home, how could we hate it?" one questioned.

Another response read, "Wouldn't trade my darlings for my flat tummy ever!!!!"

It isn't the first time that Morris has posted about her postpartum body, writing in April 2021 about the concept of women "snapping back" after birth.

"Am never saying 'trying to get my body back' again. No one took it, i didn’t lose it like a set of keys," she wrote on Instagram. "The pressure we put on mothers to 'snap back' is insurmountable and deeply troublesome. You are and always were a fucking badass. And yeah, I'm proud."

People shared their admiration of Morris at the time, writing about how not only her music but her platform and the messages that she puts on there make an impact.

"Yes!! This is a stance women need to take," one person wrote. Another said, "Yesss mama! New versions of ourselves in motherhood."
