Marcello Hernandez Made A Suprise Appearance As His Viral “Saturday Night Live” Character “Domingo” At Sabrina Carpenter’s Show

The US leg of Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet tour is coming to a close, but there has been no shortage of incredible viral moments from her shows. And last night, a very familiar face made a surprise appearance during the song “Juno.”

Throughout the Short n’ Sweet tour, Sabrina has caused a stir through her adorable interactions with fans. During the "Don’t Touch That Dial" segment, one lucky fan is given a moment in the spotlight when Sabrina “arrests” a member of the audience for “being too hot.”

Last night’s lucky audience member was none other than Marcello Hernandez of Saturday Night Live, who fans will recognize for the skit that went viral last month — where he played a character called “Domingo” in a parody song of Sabrina’s mega-hit “Espresso.”

In the SNL clip that had the internet in a frenzy, the cast members were joined by Ariana Grande to play bridesmaids singing a parody version of “Espresso” directed at an unfaithful wife and indignant husband. Marcello’s character, Domingo, steals the skit with his catchy lines. And I don’t know about you, but I haven’t been able to listen to “Espresso” normally since.

In the interaction at the LA show, Marcello appeared onscreen donning Domingo’s blue jacket and goatee, to raucous cheers and applause as fans instantly recognized the character.

Responding to Sabrina’s prompts, the comedian replied, “I’m from Miami, baby,” in Domingo’s growl. Paraphrasing Sabrina’s hit “Bed Chem,” he declared, “I’m the cute boy in the blue jacket with the thick accent.”

But what got the biggest reaction was after Sabrina asked, “Is there anything you want to say before I arrest you, Domingo?” To which, after a moment’s pause and a grin, Marcello responded with Domingo’s iconic line: “Came all this way, had to explain, direct from Domingo,” leading the audience to erupt as he continued. “Sabrina’s my friend, she’s like my sis, but I would hook up though.”

Domingo’s popularity has been through the roof since last month, and it’s no surprise that fans would be excited to see him show up.

As well as the fans at the show, the online response has been nothing but eager. One Sabrina super fan online lamented, saying, “I DON’T CARE IF YOU GOT TO SEE MARCELLO HERNANDEZ DRESS UP AS DOMINGO AT THE L.A SHORT N SWEET SHOW IT SHOULD’VE BEEN ME.”

Earlier in the weekend, Domingo also made a return to the SNL stage along with guest host Charli XCX, who joined the cast in a new Domingo skit — this time parodying Chappell Roan’s “Hot to Go!”

“D-O-M-I-N-G-O, Kelsey’s texting Domingo!” sang the cast in the skit that has fans online buzzing once again. One user online said, “SNL writers realizing HOTTOGO and Domingo have the same number letters must've been like splitting the atom.”
